Scott Johnsen
Photographer/Videographer
My passion for photography began just over a decade ago when I decided to pick up a film camera at a garage sale. Even though the first roll came back entirely blank, I was hooked. From that day forth I took my camera with me everywhere. Entirely self taught, I have become dedicated to the process, entirely devoted to my newfound craft of visual storytelling which has also parlayed into videography.
After years of photographing in different niches, I found my calling professionally as a Landscape Architect photographer. With a keen eye for framing and a natural curiosity that persuades me to think outside photography “rules”, I have built a name for myself in the Landscape Architecture industry. My images have been featured in catalogs by Unilock , High Format, Cast Lighting and Indiana Nursery and Landscape News, the latter for whom I also contribute articles and interviews.
I have recently renewed my love for portrait photography in the last few years, accepting select smaller weddings and elopement weddings that fit my documentary style as well as traveling throughout the United States for select portrait work- often blending my subjects with nature.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me traveling the United States looking for the perfect off grid camp site, spending time with my family, or out strolling through town with my Fuji camera and two dogs.
